So this evening I recieved an email from REI.  Not such an odd thing really, I am a member, I spend way too much money there and I get a lot of email from them. Tonight’s email however made me laugh, and for once I could not resist doing a product review. I guess I should preface this by saying that I love reading reviews of things.  I will spend hours on Amazon, c-net, REI, Best Buy, or really anywhere that has a great review system in place so I can read honest reviews and also read through all the idiot reviews that people put up.  I am someone that does a ton of research before buying anything and find using these reviews to be very helpful. There is also comedy gold in some of these reviews.  I am sure a lot of you are familiar with the Haribo Gummy Candy, Sugarless Gummy Bears, 5-Pound Bag review that has been going around facebook lately. So I suppose you are wondering what it was they wanted me to review that spurned this blog entry.  Well if you are ready to have your mind blown… here you go. Yep!  That’s right.  REI wanted me to review my purchase of my Annual, Northwest Forest Pass. I found this amusing enough on its own, but if you throw in the fact that I spend a lot of money at REI buying many different things, (I will admit, I may have a problem.) and then add the fact that this is the first time I have ever gotten an email asking me to review a product, it makes it hilarious.
